Q: How can I change the background picture of my client windows?
A: There are three sections of the FirstClass client that can be edited to add a background image.  They are the editor, the form, and the window.  The editor is the part of the window that can be edited by the user, such as the bottom part of a new message.  The form is the top part of a message that is preset by FirstClass.  This is where you type in the subject and recipient information.  The editor and form can be changed by using the preferences window from the Edit menu.  At the bottom of the Appearance tab, there's a check box for the editor and form and a drop box to choose your preferred image.  The third area that can be changed is the individual windows in your client, such as the window that holds your messages and folders.  This area can be changed by using the Change View Properties in the View menu.

In order to make these changes, you need images to use as the background.  First, create a folder named Images in your FirstClass directory.  PCs will find this directory at c:\Program Files\CSUB FirstClass
The CSUB FirstClass folder for the Macintosh will differ depending on where the user downloaded their copy of the client.  Inside of the Images folder, place any images that you would like to use.  Sample images can be found in the FirstClass conference folder.  Once these images are placed in the Images folder, you can edit the form and editor backgrounds through the Edit -> Preferences command or to change the background images of a folder, use the Change View Properties command from the View menu.

Note: These changes will only affect the client where the changes were made, locally.  The changes won't be transferred to your home computer's client unless the the same images reside in the home computer's Images folder.

Q: How do I change my password and what are the requirements?
A: Users can change their password at any time by going to the Collaborate menu and selecting "Change Password".

Tip: The "old" password is the one that currently logs you into your FirstClass account. If you forgot your old password, please call the Help Desk.
